Lake Geneva Swing hosts social dance events and everyone is welcome no matter the skill level.
We encourage asking one another to dance regardless of if you’re a lead or a follow. Plus, dancing with new partners is one of the best ways to refine our dancing skills. However, we understand not everyone is comfortable switching partners and it is not required.

Wear something comfortable you can move easily in. You can get warm dancing, so think of something that youโll stay cool in. Clean shoes which slide across the wood floor are best for dancing (easier on the knees too!)

Just yourself, come as you are, and maybe a water bottle? Your choice. In the winter, please bring a change of shoes.

Swing dance can be performed to almost any music; we play a variety ranging from big band, classic rock and roll, to more modern songs.

We’ll teach you the basic step (the rock step), and one beginner/intermediate move every week.
If you’re new, keep coming back and in a few weeks you’ll have enough moves to string together and build skill over time!

You’ll dance upon hardwood floors, enjoy the aesthetics of high vaulted ceilings with chandeliers, and relax upon banquet chairs to comfortably chat with your fellow dancers. We have a drinking fountain, restrooms, and air conditioning/heating.

We all have different financial situations, we want swing dancing to be affordable. The funds give us the potential to continue to grow. So we say, โPay what you canโ or โPay what you feel itโs worth to youโ! Our hope is to provide a valuable night of learning, social experience, and connection! Whether that’s $20, $10 or just $5, weโre grateful to be spending the night together.

We reinvest almost everything directly back into the dance. Our significant expenses include rent, equipment, music, and advertising, among other costs we incur to run the dance. Maybe one day we’ll pay ourselves for teaching. Presently our focus is building an amazing community. Our goal is to see it grow and flourish!
Some future expenses / ideas include shirts or swag, printed advertisements, guest instructors, decor, snacks. Got ideas? Let us know!
